The following is a list of third-party software applications that have been tested by Apple with The Macintosh Portable. Please note that this report does not cover all Macintosh application software, it only covers those applications that have been reviewed by Apple. For more detailed information on compatibility of an application and The Macintosh Portable, please contact the developer/publisher of that product.
The testing that was done by Apple did not test every feature of the application. Instead each application was run through a series of "Quick Looks" (launch, open a simple document, open DAs, Cut/Paste, and print).
This report reflects compatibility information on the version number of the application listed, and in some instances does not reflect the most currently available version of a particular application. This list is not intended as an endorsement of our advertisement for any product. This list is meant to provide you with the most current information regarding compatibility of The Macintosh Portable.
Note: Testing was done on The Macintosh Portable using System Software 6.0.4. Ratings for all applications indicate performance of the application running on with this configuration.
Where possible, Apple will update this list with new information.
Troubleshooting hints:
If you encounter some incompatibility, we recommend you do the following:
• Make sure you are using the latest version of all applications on your Macintosh by either calling the developer and/or checking the "Current Versions of Popular Macintosh Software" file in the MicroComputer Support Group folder in HotLinks.
• If your applications are up to date and you are still experiencing problems, we recommend that you try removing any Screen Dimming, Clock and non-Apple Sound programs (referred to as Control Panel Devices or Startup Documents) from your system folder. These shareware programs alter your system and may cause compatibility problems.
